If you already have a blog about WordPress.com and I'd like to move it to my standalone domain with WordPress.org. this tutorial will show you how to do it.

WordPress.com has some inherent problems that make it less desirable for many bloggers. The main problems are the lack of control and security and the inability to use a blog. If you are facing these issues, it's time to move on from WordPress.com in WordPress.org.

1-export your WordPress.com blog
Although you can not install third party plugins using a free blog hosted on WordPress.com. bundled with the platform is an export tool that allows you to upload all posts and comments to make it easy to Dow WordPress.com in WordPress.org.

•    Go to tools > export to your wordpress.com blog and click Export.
•    Select the content you want to export. You'll probably want to stick to the default "all content" option to export all your posts, pages, comments, navigation menus, and other content.
•    Click Upload export file to download the content to your computer as a single ml
2-import your own WordPress.com blog
Now you can upload the file WordPress.org blog (find step-by-step instructions for creating a new blog here) so that all content immediately appears on the new site.

•    Go to tools > import to new hosting wordpress.org blog and click on the last option "ord
•    Click Select file and navigate to the scaricato Click" Upload Files and import " and wait for W Moving can take some time depending on your internet connection and the size of the file
3-Redirect Setting
Since visitors will not know that you switched to your blog, they will still visit the old one for some time, so you will have to automatically redirect them to the new domain. The easiest way to do this is to use the site redirect service with wordpress.com . which costs 13 per year.

•    Open the Store menu item on your old wordpress.com Admin Panel and search "site redirection".
•    Click Buy Now, then click Buy Now Again to confirm. Enter your hosting address wordpress.org blog and click "redirect to this URL""
•    Confirm your purchase and enter your payment details to complete the process.
•    After setting up the redirect, you can manage the site redirect from the Store menu > my domains in the menu wordpress.com Admin Panel. For the redirect to work properly, the permalinks on the new site must match those used on your site wordpress.com blog. You can change the redirect at any time, and for best results, you'll probably want to use the service for a year or two until visitors remember your new domain and get priority in search results.
