Asus chromebooks were at the top of our Chromebook rankings last year. As competition grows, laptops such as the Samsung Galaxy Chromebook and Google Pixelbook are switching to premium mode. The Chromebook Flip 436,which is supposed to secure Asus status for another 12 months, is the same 2-in-1 model as its brother, but a$799 chromebook with a higher starting price.
Does Chromebook Flip justify sticker Shock? That is, yes. It has a stylish design,vivid screen,fast performance and excellent battery life. However,the Flip 436 is not perfect as it closes the gap with other premium competitors,while cheaper chromebooks offer better value for money.

With a starting price of $799,the Chromebook is one of the most expensive Chromebook. The base model we tested has an Intel core processor,8 gigabytes and 128 Gigabytes.
This model was released on November 1, 2018. The laptop is available in "transparent silver"or" Aerogel white", and both versions have a 14-inch 1080 display. Asus does not currently offer Flip 436 with 256GB of memory.
Asus Chromebook Flip
The Chromebook Flip 436 is a good looking laptop and stands out from several designs. First, the white cover. The ivory-colored cover contrasts with the chrome-plated Asus logo and the hinges,giving the silver Chromebook a clean look.
I also like the details of hinges. Precise sting obscures the slim rectangular surface, and narrow hexagonal notches add a regal element. I wish the speaker was hidden under the hinge, but the details(see Yoga 940)are aesthetic.
This does not mean that the design is uncomfortable. It means that you can set it as a tablet or set it to View Tent mode. The hinges felt solid and I had no problem turning the screen over. Speaking of, magnesium alloys feel solid at first, if not premium potential as aluminum. We saw much thinner ones, but also have a narrow display on the bezel.
The last thing worth mentioning is portability. At 12.6 x 8.1 x 0.5 inches and 2.5 pounds, this is one of the coolest 14-inch laptops I've tested. It's not much bigger than the 13-inch Google Pixel Book Go(12.2 x 8.1 x 0.5 inches,2.3 pounds)while the Samsung Galaxy Chromebook(11.9 x 8 x 0.4 inches,2.3 pounds)is predictably smaller.

It is crisp and dynamic, although not particularly bright(we have repeated complaints that Asus laptops). Regardless, I admit, I clear my mind by watching YouTube videos, and enjoy using the screen to write this review.
David Haber's Red Guardian Suit Black Widow with a striking ripe tomato shade from the trailer. Prove that you don't need 4k panels to get a detailed picture. The matted beard of the harbor was completely visible under his mask. Strands of hair were shot in all directions,each clearly visible on the panel of flip 436.
My observations were confirmed by our colorimeter. This colorimeter makes it more vivid than the Pixel Book high(108%), chromebook Flip(93%)and mainstream laptop class average(94%)panels. Good luck with Galaxy Chromebook(224%)and Amold display in this category.
Asus usually understeer this when it comes to the brightness of the screen. But I would like to see Asus ramping things up a bit. There is no darker screen than the Pixel Book Go(368 nits)and Galaxy Chromebook(357 nits): 287 nits,Flip 436. It is limited by at least Chromebook Flip: N(286 nits)and category average(280 nits).
Asus Chromebook Flip Keyboard and Touchpad
In general, an ultraportable laptop is either a terrible keyboard(see MacBook Pro),or simply not very interesting things. Chromebook Flip keyboard belongs to the latter category, and I'm pretty excited about it.
Laptops of this size usually do not offer as many key trips as the Flip 436. The keys provide satisfactory feedback and are well sized for medium to large hands. At the end of each press there is an audible click and a lightness that brings you back to the surface. I also like the way the arrow keys are offset so you can quickly identify them without having to scan.
As striking as it looks, the silver keycap with a translucent font does not work for everyone. Touch Tracker is no problem,but Hunt-and-Pickaxe get frustrated searching for characters because the font blends into the background.
It has an extra wide glass touchpad measuring 2.6 inches. It was smooth to the touch and I had no problem with Chrome operating system gestures like pinch zoom or two finger swipe left and right to get to the front and back.
It does not come with a stylus, but has an optional 4,096 levels of pressure sensitivity.
Asus Chromebook Flip Speaker
Do not maximize the volume. As I did so,I heard Anthony Green's" Dear Child(I'm dying to reach you)"crackling from the speakers. The two speakers on the side of the laptop seemed to have problems with the singer's high armset and certain electronic treble.
When I posted Malone's "Sunflowers" I heard Su Li and I heard the same high-pitched crackle until I turned the volume up 50 percent. In the middle of the volume, Twitter relaxed, a nd there was a beautiful clarity to the vocals and fleshiness of the bass.

Because Chrome operating system is a lightweight operating system, Intel Core. I downloaded 22 Chrome tabs, four of which play 1080p YouTube videos without delay, but the laptop had no problems during the actual test. There was no stuttering when I opened the Play Store or when I started downloading free games.
The laptop did a fantastic job on our benchmarks, scoring 2699 points in the Geek Bench 5.0 overall test. It surpasses almost twice the Pixel Book Go (1356, Core Eye 5-8200)and even surpasses the Galaxy Chromebook(2232,Core Eye 5-10210). The class average is 3,432.
Notebook with the best processor performance
Chromebooks have also led to Jetstream 2.0 comparisons. With all this, you can get everything you want. The class average is again slightly higher at 115.
Intel graphics means that the Chromebook Flip 436 will not be able to play the most demanding games. The notebook showed 5,000 fish at 45 frames per second.
Chrome Operating System
Chromebooks are still popular with students and children,but the market is growing upwards. Premium chromebooks are becoming more common with Samsung Galaxy chromebooks as examples of models. Other competitors in the area include Pixel Book Go, which starts at$649 and goes up to$1,399.
We expect more premium notebooks in this market as the Chrome operating system becomes more popular and new productivity features are added. The biggest change in the Chrome operating system in recent years is the addition of Android apps,so users can now download mobile apps to their laptops.
Certain applications have not yet been optimized up to 3 years. For example, slack applications are slower compared to the Windows 10 version. Many mobile games also occupy part of the screen. Even the popular game Heads-up! The Galaxy Chromebook, which is not optimized for large screens, looks like a YouTube video recorded in portrait mode.
Despite these obstacles, the Chrome operating system has come a long way from a browser-oriented desktop operating system to competing with the real Windows 10 and Macos.
Battery life
While we do not have any records, we are satisfied with the 9-hour runtime 25 minutes set in our battery test(150 nits continuous internet search of WiFi brightness).
Laptop Best Battery life
This all-day durability surpasses the Galaxy Chromebook(04: 56), but it runs out of gas before the Chromebook Flip(09: 58)and the Pixel Book Move(11: 29). The average for mainstream laptops is 7 hours, but we expect more than 8 hours.
This is a good webcam. If there is enough lighting, it is recommended to use flip lenses for video conferencing or online chat. When the lights are turned off, the image quality is also turned off. Selfies taken in my dimly lit apartment had layers of visual noise obscuring certain details from my face. The peach shades of my skin and medium gray coat were correct. Nevertheless, a decent external webcam is a big step.

Is there a problem with the content of this review? After playing 15 minutes of 1080p video,the laptop warmed up to just 87 degrees, well below the comfort limit of 95 degrees. The keyboard and touchpad did not raise the temperature,rising to 83 degrees and 76 degrees, respectively.

Final Result
Chromebook Flip 436 is an excellent laptop with attractive and light design,colorful screen and excellent performance. But it is not quite as successful as the Chromebook Flip 434 before. Part of the problem is pricing. The starting price of $799 is asking a lot of people, many of whom fled to the Chrome operating system for safety on more expensive Macs and Windows 10 laptops.
Another reason for remaining the brightest is the renewed competition of the Pixel Book Go and Galaxy Chromebook. Pixelbook Go does not offer the same flexibility or performance, but for$649 you get a stylish design,a cool screen,and a cool battery life. For more than $ 200, you can buy a Galaxy Chromebook, but you can exchange it for a cool 4,000 Amoled display.
